Cool Dashboards lighting problem

My 92 bonneville interior /dashboard **** had a loose wire. If you turned the **** the dashboard light would start to flicker. I just never touch it and it was fine. Then my friend drove the car and felt it wasnt bright enough and went and turned so much that dashboard dont come anymore. Note: If I turn the **** all the way as much as I can to the left, I get now both the dashboard light and the interior lights to come on very dimly, and lose my light to the clock on the radio all at the same time lol.
I would really love to get in there and fix it Just need to know where to start and what to do Thanks
