Default Dash cluster questions

Hey all, me again.. Here'* one for yall.. How specific to year are the SSE/i dash clusters, ALMs, and ding boxes to the computer systems? FOr example, if I have a dash clust er, ALM and DingBox for a 92, can I wire it into like a 97? I am curious to see if I can do this as I have all the 92 parts and would like to know if I can run them on the newer gen computer systems (OBD2)

Steve, right off hand I'm thinking not. That is, the cluster from a 92 is not interchangeable with the cluster from a 97. I was hoping some more knowledgable 92-99 guys would chirp in here by now.

I don't think so. Need more conclusive info from a 92-99 GH.

the connectors are the same. Things will fall in and work. Only thing that won't work is the fuel gauge. The difference in the years have different senders.

The DIC also includes the ALM. Good luck with that. You like spaghetti?

just a suggestion....could you remove the Compass, and the DIC and use them in the new cluster.....basically a mix and match to get the parts correct and working???
