Default current draw when not running, causes no start

I have a 98 SSE that I put an engine into 4 months ago. Was running fine. Then battery would go low. Replaced bat with new. Ran fine for awhile until cold weather. Turned on rear defogger on cold day after engine was running and it shut off. Got it running and days later while driving adjusted pwr seat and engine died again. I noticed after engine dies fuel punp not work until 5 minutes go bye, as something resets engine will run. I traced the short or power draw to circuit on firewall which controls inst. panel, radio, heater controls, cig. lighter, and miscl. This is fused by a large 60amp. I unplugged the 60amp fuse and engine runs fine but obviously no controlled options which heater is most important. As soon as fuse is installed and power seat is used engine dies. I'ver disconnected seat, lighter unplugged at rear, and still will die when some other power device used. Any suggestions? Gabe

You have a short somewhere. Not much else to say I guess. You will need to get a multi tester and start checking wires. Something got pinched or something. Wish I could tell you more. Check to see if there are any fuses for each of those inside the car. Pull those and start testing.
