Default Control Lights

Quick Question. On my consol there are the two buttons for the heated seat directly foreward of the cup holder. The driver-side heater control no longer illuminates. In other words, the words "HI" and "LOW" do not come on anymore. The indicator lights next to the words do still work. Anyone know how I should take care of this? Thanks.

This is an LED or missing ground. I'd pull the switch and test fof continuity across the pins for that LED to see if it'* bad. If bad..pull switch apart and fix.

Or look around for another one. .... or switch it with the passenger side one that hardly gets used, and wouldn't be noticed.

I guess my questions is: how do I pull the switch? Not really good when it comes to eletrical fixes. Although, it does seem as if I can just pull-up the consol at the seperation point between the shifter gate at the cup holder. Is that how its done?

That indicator light (back light) is supplied from another source. You've got other problems. There are two 10a fuses in the rear fuse block that need to be checked first, fuse #16 & fuse #34. the other potential problem could be the driver heated seat module (located under the driver seat cushion). And finally, the heat elements in the seat could have failed. Does the passenger heated seat operate? If so, you don't need to check fuse #34. The Rear Integration Module (RIM) is interfaced also with the the heated seats.

The console is held in by retaining clips. It will be easier to work on if you put the shifter into neutral. Put on the parking brake, and block the wheels first. There'* a clip that holds the shift **** on, around the front, toward the bottom. Remove that, and the shift ****.

Pull the tray that holds the cigarette lighter straight back, to remove that from the retainer clips. Then the console trim plate pulls straight up. Some of the retaining clips can be a bit stubborn, so it can take some force at times. Try to keep things as straight as you can so that you don't break off any of the tabs.

Thanks for the info. Actually, both seat heaters work quite well. There appears to be some damage around the actual driver-side switch. Perhaps the previous owner did the fix but forgot to take care of the small detail of fixing the lights? I'll take a pic tomorrow to post so you know what I'm talking about.
