Default cold cathode or LED?

i wanna redo my interior lighting, i dont want colors i just want white cuz that yellow incandescent is nasty. i know cold cathode would probly be best for the door lights, but does anyone know if they made a cold cathode that could be made to fit the map/reading/mirror lights? led'* would be pretty expensive

I'm not sure if they make cold cathodes that small and if they did I don't know where you would fit the transformer. Look at www.oznium.com they have good prices on both cold cathodes and leds.

This web site is a good source, look through the forums they have for a topic where they discuss removing the cold cathodes from the acrylic tubes. I think that may be the solution your are looking for.

LEDs arent really that expensive if you build it yourself, you can probably put LEDs in your maplights for about 20 bucks max
