Default Can anyone help me fix my ECC problem?

MY ECC system works fine accept for two things. Regardless of where the arrows are pointing, it'* always on Floor/defrost. Also, regardless of RECIRC being on off, it'* always in non-recirc mode.

Someone said it might be vacuum problem. Where do I begin? Could it possibly be a solenoid?

Can someone walk me thru a repair?

TIA.

My only experience of this happening was caused by a vacuum leak. My supply line from the reservoir next to the brake master cylinder had been knocked off when I cahnged my rear spark plugs.

Good luck.

Right. The display is showing you which vents it wants to use, but without a vacuum source, it can't actually move its ducts and servos to those settings.

No, you don't really have any solenoids involved, although there are motors to move mixture doors and such. However, a problem there usually sets a code and blinks the temperature display at you for the first two minutes after startup. Since you didn't mention a blinking temperature display, it doesn't sound like you have a fault there.

Start by examining the vacuum lines under the hood, especially at the vacuum booster/reservoir on the firewall just inboard of the master cylinder, to see if something'* gotten broken or knocked off. If there'* nothing suspicious there, look inside, under the dash, especially if somebody'* been working on the interior for any reason, or if you hear any hissing or wheezing noises from behind the dash when the engine is idling.

It was the vacuum line that fell off. Slipped it back on and all is well in Electronic Climate Control World.

Thanks guys.
