Default Blower?

has anybody replaced their blower on their car. It was working fine when i first got the car. Then it would only work when I would tap on the fan blower. Now it doesnt come on at all. Im going to try and clean the contacts and hopefullly that will do the trick otherwise, Ill probably have to get a new blower. Any clue on how much they cost?

Like $30. They're used in just about every FWD H body. It'* easier to pull it out with the STB removed. Also, Only the rear bearing is greasable. You'll notice a metallic sticker on the motor, Pop a hole in it and feed some light oil in there. Set the fan on low and wait for it to speed up as you keep slowly adding oil. Make sure to reseal the hole.

On my sisters' car I thought I would have to replace the fan, But after that trick it spins free-er than mine.

Default Blower Motor Cover optional?

:?: :?:
I had a 96 Bonne SE intermittent heater/ac blower motor and purchased new one for $46, started replacement of my new motor and fan. However, when I took the bad unit out the plastic motor cover (part number 52-468-407) fell apart into about 5 pieces. Here'* the weird thing--several other Bonne firewalls I've seen have the blower motors without a cover..? Is it even necessary to replace the cover or should I just press on without it? I looked the part number up on some GM Parts web sites and ... nothing!
