Bill - Door was closed.
John - That will be a big help. As soon as he gets home from swim practice I'm going to check the lights in the vanity mirrors. I forgot all about those.

We looked into this some more today & might have found something. It sounds like a solenoid is clicking in the seat belt retractor when the fuse is put in.
John - do you have a wiring diagram that shows the seat belt retractors?

Not sure if this will help, but it did for me. About 2 weeks ago I finally got my trunk light working, bad ground. Everything worked well for a few days, then my battery went dead. Needless to say, this charge,wake-up to a dead battery, charge went on for a week or so. First the battery was no good. Six years old. Then, I had the alternator checked. Good, though marginal. One night, my wife just happened to open the trunk access from the rear seat & I noticed the light was on & the trunk was closed. So I took the bulb out. Haven't had a problem since. Somehow the switch for the trunk light isn't working, so the light was constantly on. Strange , but true. FYI I've also heard of this mysterious battery drain after installing a trailer hitch wiring harness with a bad ground. Just an idea or two. Good luck.
