bad ground somewhere for the right 3 gauges......
Hello again guys n galls...........
1995 SSE and all options for this car.
The problem is the right three gauges on the cluster are not working correctly.
I confirmed that the sensors are fine.
I've checked all the recommended areas to look: ground at battery, ground at driver floor door sill, ground behind battery on inner fender well and on the other fender well, ground on motor, and the ground at the PCM.
Oh yeah, also took the whole cluster apart; did the removing of the individual pieces to clean the posts that make contacts.
What else is left?
For right now I disconnected the gauges at the instrument cluster so they don't bother my wife anymore.
Thanks for your help w/this

Just thought of this, about 6 years ago the cluster would act really funny when it would rain hard out. It would go black like lose power or the gauges would flip out. So I replaced it with a new factory one after it got really bad. The new one lasted for about two years with no problems. Then this all over again, only it does not lose power, the right three gauges just flip out all the time, they never work right.
I didn't know if there is a way that the rain water got down in below the dash and the fire wall. The black/relay fuse cover in the engine compartment up agents the fire wall was not all the way on, so I fixed that to about one years ago.

Sounds a lot like mine. Does your fuel gauge read funny? In addition to the ground busses under both front doors, there is a ground bolt just infront of each door. Check those out too. I've done those and all the one'* you've mentioned. My gauges even worked fine during a couple days of rain. I think I've exhausted all the "free" possibilities and need a good cluster.

Try something. Spray the serpentine belt area down with water, soak it pretty decent (keep water off the ignition coils and ICM, but hit the bracket under it). Then see if the gauges work.
