Default Alternator problem??

I posted under Here'* one...... the post on the back of my alternator spins, would this cause all my issues?? By "post" I mean where the battery cable connects to the alternator with the nut. I've been told that is not suppose to spin, seeing as I cant fully tighten the nut with the entire setup spinning, let me know, PLEASE!!

yeah, thats not good. but if you have output voltage to the battery, you may be able to get by for a lil while.
