Default 98 ssei HUD doesnt work.

Well I just bought a 98' Bonneville ssei, a day or two ago, and the HUD didn't work when I bought it. looking through the owners manual, I found the page that talks about the HUD, and it said on the bottom of the list (the top 4 things in the list can't be the problem) "A fuse in the fuse panel may be blown. See "Fuses and Circuit Breakers" in the Index.

So I turn to page 6-59, and... sure it lists the fuses, but it doesn't kindly list the location of the fuse that the HUD is on.

thanks in advance.

Usually the hud problems aren't the fuse.

Try adjusting the up/down for a few minutes and put the brightness to max. At night look down from outside the car for any glow in the hud. Any glow should indicate that the adjustment is not where you can see it.

You hadn't mentioned and it'* the most common. There goes my easy answer for the day.

I'd look up the fuse, but no fsm nearby.

Nothing idiot about it. When I picked up my car I had to diagnose it. It wouldn't move at first and I couldn't see the image. A bit of goofing around and it moved again.

Presto.. easy and simple fix.

Well perhaps I should have named my thread "a few things wrong with my bonneville."

prob# 2

I can't raise and lower my seat, because the motor that lowers the back part of the seat doesn't do anything, so my seat just tilts forward.

looking under the seat in an awkward position I believe i have located the problem. one of the two large electric motors under the seat has a wire sticking out the back that isn't connected to anything, but I can't see where it is supposed to go. anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram or something for the seats?

side note: on the right side of my seat (when sitting in it) there is a bar that seems to come from the seat belt button thing, and is just hanging there in the middle of nowhere, anyone know what that might be?
