Is the correct SilverStar replacement foglight the 880 or 893? I think the 893 is a higher-wattage bulb (38W vs. 27W), so I guess it will burn a little hotter....which might explain some of the early DOA problems people seem to be having.

Maybe a better question would be if the 27W 880 is the right bulb (which i think it is), what happens if you install the 38W 893? Would the extra heat cause a problem?
You can always go with the hotter one. I noticed no melting with it, but eventually replaced my lights with the Navigaotors (55W H3 bulb in them). If the stockers melt, you have your excuse to upgrade
Gotta walmart? Navigators are cheap, and vastly superior to stock fogs.

I purchased Hella/optilux driving lights. They're @ www.grandprixstore.com for $56 or so.
Cheaper then Navigators + new Bulbs, you get angel eye lights, and brightest, solution available
