2002 SSEi rear window not working
Hello,
I have just noticed that my passenger rear power window is not working (from either front driver or passenger rear switches). It will not roll down. The lock is not on, and all other windows work just fine.
I know that this has been discussed here before, but I couldn't find anything that pertained directly to my situation. I believe that the fuse/circuit breaker is the same for all four windows, so I don't need to check that.
Any clues that can be offered will be greatly appreciated. I would like to know how this system works, so it can aid in my troubleshooting.
Best regards,
Darren

it could be 3 things. Ive had this happen on my 2001 in march and it was VERY cold outside too and it stayed down... talk about a freezefest.
If you believe the fuses are okay, then i would narrow it down to either the window regulator cable went bad. then again, the window would simply fall out down
.
Most likely it is your window motor. if you are savvy in taking the doorpanel off and have a good idea of what to work with inside the door... take a new window motor and pop it in. .
Before you go into replacing the motor though, just to see if the window wires are good or bad, (which is odd) then maybe you could test the motor with other wires and a switch. im sure one of the other members here could tell you how to do that, i have no idea.
not the best of answers im sure, but its a start. hope this helps

Hi ptrfair,
I will check the fuses just to make sure, then see about checking the motor out. Maybe someone could tell me the best way to take the door panel off without damaging anything else
Thanks for the help.

Darren

heres the deal....
get a flathead screwdriver.
First, take the plastic peice around the handle off. that pulls out with a screwdriver
Then from the bottom, pry back the door panel away from the door. it is held in by green "push pins". On both sides of the panel now, take the screwdriver and continue to pull. Now that everything is free, take the door panel and push up. the panel rests on a lip where the window rests.
im sure someone around here has a picture of what i am talking about. and info to test the window motor. its a start.
and you will run into fustration and agony.. remember dont get mad, get glad.

Thanks ptrfair for the detailed procedure. I will give it a try tomorrow (if I find that the fuses are o.k.). Hopefully it will be a loose wire, or something like that....
Best wishes,
Darren
