no matter what you do (unless extream) you will be "stealing" someone else'* idea, Its more of a complement do the other person If you where to like there Idea enough to do it yourself

I'm thinking about doing this too.

Why did you not remove the grill from the "nose" piece to paint it? Is that hard to do?

Hmm, I'll have to take another look at mine because to me it looked like the black plastic part was a whole another piece. Kinda weird they would make that all one piece.

Yeah, looked at mine again, and yep it is one piece...not sure what the heck I was looking at before. Looks like it'* just held on by three screws.

Think the Silver grill would look good on a white SSEi (see below for pic)? Or should I do a more chome-ish color?
