its a safety thing.

you wanna be able to see in peoples car as you walk up to them. more for security than anything else.

wrong. in allendale [michigan, just outside of grand rapids], i was pulled over for having tint on my front windows -- any tint at all is illegal*. unless theyve changed the law in the last three years.

oklahoma has no law on how dark the rear window can be.

EDIT: to clear up a miscommunication and remove an in-thread off-topic discussion, it should be noted that by the prior statement, the author meant tint going all the way down the front windows. the author sees no reason why anyone would only want the top four inches of their front windows [not windshield] tinted, as it looks horrendous. th statement should read "any tint on the bottom [x-4, where x is the window height in inches] inches of the windows are illegal"

Your front window tint was probably more than 4 inches long, which is against the law, but as far as how dark the tint can be, there are no restrictions

all the posts are nice. ive set my mind on 20% so i dontt hink u can get me off it, no offense. i drive pretty sensibly unless somebody pushes me so i mean, i have no reason to worry about it. ive only gotten 1 ticket in my lifetime for doing 52 in a 35 so its not all that bad.

as for rolling the windows down, dont the back windows only go down half way? or can that be changed?

but yeah, im gonna see what i can do about MAKING a friend in the inspection industry and go with the 20%. is limo tint 20%? 20% seems to be a popular number.

OH and what about factory tint? im thinking i might need new windows so is there any way for like, maybe GM, to have factory tinted windows to a % of my choice?

like i think cop cars have factory tint to that really dark %.. or maybe im wrong

get a sticker and then tint. not many ppl will hassle you for a sticker. trust me.

I don't know, but if you get the windows, bring them to the tint shop before you install them it'll probably save you some serious cash. it's a lot easier to tint windows with them off the car. Just something to consider.

Its not even worth getting a strip on the front windows, looks retarded having a 4" strip IMO
