weight of wheels
I'm looking at new wheels, they're 18x8" and weigh in at 29 pounds each. This seems a bit heavy from what I've seen with other aftermarket wheels so it'* dissapointing because I really liked the style of these wheels, they looked like the Bonneville GXP wheels. My question is, will I see a noticable decrease in performance by going to these 29 pound wheels? I don't know what my stock wheels weigh, but I wouldn't think they're too ligh.. they're chrome and somewhat enclosed. I'd guess maybe 22-24 pounds for the stockers? I just am not sure. What'* your opinions on this? Is 29 pounds really heavy for an 18 inch wheel?

My 17 x 7 1/2" cast aluminum stockers are 23 lbs.
You pay more for forged wheels and they are lighter because they are constructed of thinner cross sectional alloys.
29 lbs is heavy and also because they are larger diameter, the rotational inertia is greater. This will require greater power to rotate for acceleration and deceleration.
