Very fine scratch removal
So I removed the pinstripes from my 95 SLE (Gold and Brown just wasn't doing it for me) and I used Turtlewax Rubbing Compound to get the excess glue off, thing is even after triple waxing there are very fine scratchmarks in the clearcoat. Can anyone recommend a product to me they know works? Some detail shop I know of said try MicroFinish??? Never heard of it, looked it up and I see 3M makes some. I need everyone'* advice on this though. Please only tell me what'* worked for you, or that you've seen work first hand. I don't just trust commercials

Scatch X is great stuff, but lately I've been using 3M rubbing compound. I love it, took out some nasty scratches and rub marks on my wrangler. you can also find it at Walmart usually next to all the touch up paints in the automotive department. Whatever you decide to use just use a good applicator and don't be afraid to use a little force when applying it.

The rubbing compound is like liquid sand paper, so it will leave scratches. I used it on the hood of our suv a few years ago trying to remove some paint transfer, and was horrified by the scratches. Now that I've learned some stuff about detailing, I know that all I needed was a finer polish. Glad the ScratchX worked!

Tell me about it, after doing it lightly for a bit I thought to myself "didn't I read somewhere to press hard" well I leaned into the car making it shake as I put weight into it lol..and it worked amazingly. Must have looked funny to the neighbors though....
