Default Think I shoud get a Moonroof?

Guys, I love moonroofs and the appeal of them. I wanted to get your opinion if I shoudl invest into getting a moonroof, the electric one not the cheapo pop up one. Very much like a factory one.

I KNEW you would respond first. I know you wouldn't do it to White HOT, she'* too perfect. I'm not butchering my car, I'm just adding touches that I want that the car didn't have. Like the car didn't have the rims that I really wanted (read chrome torque stars) so I replaced it with something much better. You know what I mean?

I agree....i added a lot of stuff to my car that didnt come with it ( SSEi stuff that is). you have to also consider that the factory cars have provisions for the roof, the opening is rolled down and also the car has sunroof drains built in it to drain the water. Also consider that you have to hack into your headliner or get a headliner out of a car that has a roof.....its alot of work, and ALOT of expese for a minimal gain

Well i don't know how to vote on that one. I sure am glad that someone put the roof in my car, but I don't know if i'd go to the expense of a new one. You never know if they're going to screw up the install. Mine was installed very crooked, but i never noticed til i had the headliner out.

And speaking of headliner, they BUTCHER it. My board was cut into shards and the fabric was basically just suspended up there until it fell down. If you're going to have a moonroof put it, make them use the board out of a factory moonroof car to put the headliner fabric on. It must be modified heavily, but it'* the only way to do it right. I'd say that the aftermarket roof added 4 days to the time it took me to redo the headliner.

Here'* my thread about the headliner.
http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ight=headliner

This is what they did to my board:

So i got a new board and this area had to be cut out because my opening is larger than stock.

This area didn't match and had to be blended.

Notice how crooked it is front to back

That said, I still love my roof

I'm just absolutely tore between whether to get a moonroof or not. I'm afraid that the moonroof is not going to be centered exactly (I'm extremely anal on that, I have to have things centered), the installer is going to f*** it up. I'm also afraid it'* going to look like a hack job.

But then it would be sooo cool to push a button and see the roof open up and see the sky and have air flow in. And the sex appeal of a moonroof car is very popular to women. :P

God, I don't know what to do, this is the only time I've been so tore on a subject. :(

My sunroof, I LOVE it. Car came from the factory without one, but was installed by a local place with a lifetime warranty.

Another reason you want the board out of a factory moonroof car: you need the switch and the maplight. They tried cutting into my maplight and putting the switch in beside the foglight, and in doing that they ruined the clips that held the maplight in place so it always hung too low.

DJ, did they butcher your headliner, JohnDeerBoy makes it sound like a install job from Hell. Did you use a moonroof headliner?

And John Deer Boy, when you look at the roof, is the moonroof crooked? I know you mentioned that it was very crooked but was it shockingly obivious from the outside or just subtle if you looked hard enough?
