The only way to find out if a set of optics will work is to try it. Normally changing the direction of the light source doesn't work well, but in these particular ones, it seems to work. H7 and H9 bulbs are similar in size/shape, and H7'* usually adapt well to a D2S burner, so, if the H9 worked well in the 8xx series projector, then who'* to say a HID burner, if properly positioned, won't?
