Default sorry stupid question. headrest removal?

I just purchased some seat covers.. and they are two piece..
one for seat and then the head rest..
but... i cant seem to find any release for the head rest.. to put the big seat piece on.
so the quesiton.. does the head rest come off at all ..
or am i SOL

they come out. You will need a thin piece of metel to release the tabs that hold them in place.

think something like a hack saw blade but narrower. slide it down the stems of the head rest to trick it into sliding all the way out.

for the record here is a pic of my headrest
not exactly sure how i would follow your directions.
that accordian type ribbing..doesnt move much at all.

the front .. where your head actually touches.. flips up..
opens like a trunk..
but i have not yet found the release ..

WTF!?! I've never seen that... cool.
How does it open?


IIRC the "according piece" isn't actually connected to either the top or botton, and you maybe able to squeeze it together. I'll check tonight after work.

Does your headrest move vertically (manually) and if so, does it stay in the top position or fall down? My headrest won't stay up.

mine wont stay up either.. and no power to it apparently.
also i was told by a mechanic who owns this year car
they do not come off..

Yea they are supposed to tilt..... mine do.
I think they are supposed to lock in when pulled up, but mine doesn't.
I forgot to look the other night about getting that cover off, I will tonight if remember.
(my memory is good, just too short... hehe)
