True gold wasn't an option for me. Epoxy-based wheel paint is pretty limited as far as color selection around here. Besides, they don't stay on the car long. I just didn't want them BLACK.
To be honest, the color match is actually closer than you might imagine. In bright sunlight at a distance, the gold crosslaces on the rear will look darker from the 'dark' behind them under the car.
Anyway, here'* the full progression to slicky sticky goodness.




I had them mounted and static balanced (never spin balance a slick, either static or bubble) last night.

And I lost power last night for a few hours too, so this was by candlelight:


Bad lighting and beer slowed me down. I still have to finish the other one.
