ok i never polished ,waxed or buffed a car before inn my life so all this info is very helpfull...... i also have mcquires gold class polish that i bought with the scratch x. should i use the polish also or just the scratch x.?

Try the ScratchX. The polish is probably really just a paint cleanser like the Deep Crystal polish I have. They often call stuff a polish that you can buy at the store, but they really are just a cleaner or actually a wax.
