is there anything we can do to prevent sandblasting? are there covers made for bonneville headlights and fog lights that can be applied so it doenst actually sandblast the actual front clear housing?

What about some kind of transparent overlay like this?

I'm sure there'* cheaper places to go but I just found that so far.
Possible problems I'd see would be that the vinyl itself could pit faster than the actual headlight plastic and you'd need to replace it frequently to keep it looking clear. Installing it over and over could be a PITA too.

plastic headlights
at :least these dont have the problem with yellowing like most cars.
Not much to prevent it, you might check the local yards to see if there are any low miles head lights for 40 bucks or so.

Aree you looking for something custom like this?

If not your local autoparts store should have sheets of the same material and you would cut to fit the fog lamps

headlights
i assume this stuff only works on lights that are already in good cndition, what about lens that are gettin worn out, i can't think of anyway to make them clear again,i don't think sticking transparent material over the lens will make them clear? yes no?

About the only thing you can do to prevent the sandblasting is not to follow so close behind vehicles when there is wet sand on the road.
If they are already pitted then you could cut polish them but you would have to take off a few thou.
