My 98 has exposed rust all along the roof line. I can see drip marks when it rains heavily on the inside of the glass. No major water though. Other than that, my car is in great shape, so I am going to go pro for my repair. I got a quote for approx. $1000.00 and that is to replace the trim moulding, or windshield if they get ruined trying to remove ...

That price is outrageous!

I paid $125 for a new windshield (they came to my house to do the work, too). And, I paid $4 for a can or Rust O'leum flat black paint. I used a wire wheel to clean the surfaces and a grinding stone to clean the really bad rust. I then masked off the areas I didn't want painted and applied 6 very light coats of Rust O'leum.

The guys came back the following day to install the winshield and were very impressed with the repair. They told me that they would now be able to guarantee that it wouldn't leak (they couldn't do that before I fixed it).
