definately green and gold... and IMO it looks especially nice with a gold pinstripe, but then again i may be baised 
The crosslaces on my GP are silver- and much like yours, are rough around the edges. I have been thinking about wetsanding then painting them black, but leaving the lip and center polished. Seen it done and it does look great. But on a green car, I don't think you can go wrong with keeping them gold.
