Default Quick wax question:

Is 45*F too cold to do a good job of waxing a car? I don't have a good way to heat my garage :(

You are right on the cusp of the temp where it is too cold. What type of wax are you using?

You should be OK.

Do you have access to one or two halogen lamps? That would help. I think you are alright if it'* paste wax. I've read many times that paste wax is most durable in cold temps, so as long as it applies OK I would think it would be fine. I think I heard the expensive Zymol stuff actually says to keep it in the freezer.

You should have seen what I saw last January when I pulled in my driveway with temps in the teens -my cousin polishing his GTP! He had just bought the polish and had to keep it in the car.... Luckily it was sunny and the sun was feeling pretty warm. Still about 50* too cold for me to polish/wax a car in. :?

Yeah it was paste wax. I left the door to the house open and it eventually warmed up the garage quite a bit...i didn't start until 9 or 10pm. No problems.
