Its a simple hookup. wire runs from battery to dash mounted pushbutton, then from pushbutton to starter. Only have to hold for a half second. Still must use the key. insert key, turn to on position, stab button. was only installed because ignition went out. Its reliable tho. Its been like this for about 2 years. and works great

Nope. It still works fine for me. I've been thinking about maybe putting the ***** back on the far left vent though so I can have the a/c blowing on me when I use it

I have been reading around Infinity, Audi, BMW forums and i guess there are just releasing a system that is a true push button ingition, that senses the key fob in your pocket. Which in this case, just push th button to start and stop the vehicle. I wonder what you do with the accessory fuction within the ignition...Havent been able to find how much it is, or how hard it is to install, but i would be interested in it.

I guess the system also can sense when your within 10 feet of the car to unlock the doors as well. And according to the manufacture, even if the batter is ded within the fob, it can still interact with the vehicle and you wont be stranded. I think i would still have a secondary starting source though....would be a very interesting mod!

When you going to do this to your GXP Sam? haha

Have you looked into the Guard Dawg system at all? Looks like a whole mess of wires to hook in...if you want to keep onstar, security alarm, door chimes..etc!
