PK Ave- Pro Shop -Burnt My Paint !
Over polishing the trunk and then about a year later...
Masking/prep, I used 4 coats of Rust-Oleum Painter'* Touch Ultra Cover Gloss Clear.
It is fast Drying- Non Yellowing & UV resistant.
It also bonds to plastic.
I think this turned out quite well overall & saved $600 to repaint the trunk !
Product from home Depot: https://www.homedepot.ca/product/rus...int/1000666134

Nice!
Good to hear about a good clear coat.
My LeSabre is the same color, and it decided that this year it would have all of its clear flake off the roof at the same time, except for the trunk where it appears to not ever have had clear on it since some rear-end collision before we owned it. I found all the glass under the seat not too long after we bought it in 2002, and then the slightly faded trunk lid made sense!
It'* time for paint anyways. Hopefully early next year.

Around here a good paint job would run $5k for a full size sedan. Certainly can't afford that !
One thing I will say is that there were many scratches in the trunk paint. That clear coat made the scratches disappear !
Also in yesterday'* adventures, 2 windshield chips were addressed, before they had spread.

That is not burn from your detailer it'* UV damage. You'll have it on all horizontal panels in due time.
As for the clear you'll be OK for a while but your new clear will be damaged in time. The problem with UV damage is the primer coat under the color coat that has the problem. Any good paint shop will take it down to the electrocoat and paint it all.

Yes and luckily our insurance covers the pressurized resin chip repairs at no charge. Cost to insurance was $84.
In other news, the Trunk now beads water off like crazy !
Once dry, trunk also got 4 coats of wax today!
