92-99 will only be that cheap if the tint installer is ignorant about the rear window problems on this generation. Once he knows the difficulty of shaping the tint to match the odd curves, he'll charge more on the next one.
What brand of tint did he use? That's half the game. You know to use ONLY water to clean the insides of the windows from now on? |
I use the Stoner window cleaner on my cars...does a fine job, and it's safe for tint (or so it says). I've heard anything with amonia in it is unsafe for tint, so blue bug juice is out of the question.

Bill.... Tony mentioned how the installer shaped the tint the same way as your green car pics. Then he said how he questioned the guy about putting it on the outside and learned they were shaping it.
I asked my installer what was able to be used on the tint and was told anything ammonia free. I've used SprayAway so far and had great success. Not sure if the film brand makes a difference on the cleaning. I have Onyx. |
Shaping that piece with a heat gun on the rear window is a PITA on ours. The 92-99 is simply the most difficult rear window most installers will ever encounter. But heat-shaping it is the best way to get a good fit.

The person I had do my tint, mentioned the back window. Then mentioned to me that part of it is curved and part is flat. Looking at our rear window from the side in the proper light you can see exactly what they are talking about.
It's an odd shape, there's no doubts there. |
how much you wanna bet he didnt get the sunroof done

Wren, Im not sure of the brand. I got a call into the shop that did it. But it was a pretty thick tint and they seemed to do a great job. The windows need to be cleaned inside though and I cant do that for a few days.
Free Legal replacement if I get stopped :D and lifetime warranty. Back window was done twice. First piece scrapped second a charm. The guys who were doing it didnt speak much englsigh. one spanglish and was hard to undestand. but over all price and quality seems to be good!! https://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e...i/DSC00547.jpg https://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e...i/DSC00546.jpg https://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e...i/DSC00543.jpg https://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e...i/DSC00542.jpg https://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e...i/DSC00541.jpg https://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e...i/DSC00550.jpg https://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e...i/DSC00551.jpg https://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e...i/DSC00549.jpg |
