perfect bulb for cleared corners 00+
So I cleared my corners on my 05 sle and it looks awesome...but at night with the lights on I didn't like the amber glow from the low filament...I've read to use the silvertars but I wanted no light at all in the corners until I wanted to signal...so I found that you can use a 992/7440 amber bulb in the socket(I got them at oreilly) it is only a single filament bulb so it produces no light until you signal...it looks so nice...thought I would let people know...o yea I also took out my drl relay so in the day time the housings look super clean

I'll elaborate Nick...
DOT (Department of Transportation) specifically states,(in easy to understand english) "any modifcation to factory installed lighting devices is unauthorized". You can't get any more simpler than that.
And still to this day, it still amazes me that some people would tint tail lights. I mean come on! That just tells me you WANT people to rear end you. I don't care if your state says it must be visible at X distance, its MORONIC to tint them.

I'm gonna go with Sarah on this one.
The law is to prevent moronic changes that hinder function. Obviously her tinted tails (and mine) are still highly visible and nobody has hit us.
Also, my HIDs are technically illegal, BUT they IMPROVE function.
What I was trying to get at is that having a bulb in your car that is OFF when it should be ON can result in a ticket for a burnt out bulb. Just because you have a good signal isn't enough, parking lights exist for a reason.

that'* trivial imho. some new cars right off the line have amber turn signals that aren't lit at all times. unless the cop knows that that year bonnie is supposed to be lit, it wont be an issue

Amber turn signal =/= parking lights.
Find me a new car that doesn't have amber parking lights when the headlights are on, and I'll change my av/user text to anything you want.
DRLs don't count either.

I don't want to sound whiny, but tinted tail lights are irritating. During the day it requires other drivers to have to really stress to see the tai lights, especially when the turn signal is in the same housing as the brake light. Then my biggest gripe is HIDs in NON-projector housings, especially in trucks. It may improve "function" but basically it'* like driving around with your high beams on. If I drive around with high beams on it "improves function". I just find it inconsiderate
