Is that a simple or hard task to perform? I was thinking maybe if it would be smarter for me to take my stocks off and clean them and paint them back silver or black. I know I would save some money doing this.

What'* wrong with them now? Got any pics of the current condition?

My wheels are in pretty good shape, except inside the spokes are crusted with 16 years of black road/brake grim (Clearly the previous owner wasn't a car buff like the rest of us).

Yeah, that brake dust is going to be pretty hard to avoid, even if you repaint them, unless you go with ceramic pads. But then you'd need rotors that wouldn't warp under the ceramic.

Simple, but time consuming. They look like they are in pretty good shape. Get them super-clean before applying paint. ( repeated applications of wheel cleaner and rinse well, then acetone to remove anything that'* left on the metal.)

By the time you get them clean enough to paint, you might find they don't need painting...
