Default painting * II UIM

can the plastic-ish upper intake manifolds for series II N/A engines be painted? and what kinda of paint? engine enamel?

i tried searching, and found one thread that nobody answered. any help?

Engine enamel would work just fine.

I'm not sure how much the paint will effect the ability of the UIM to dissipate heat though. It may not be a good thing to do if you're concerned with performance.

Painting the UIM is not as damaging to performance as painting a supercharger would be though.

To properly paint it..I'd say you need to remove it.

Agreed. I assumed he would be removing it.

Inspect the UIM when you remove it. If it has signs of the L36 UIM failure, get a new one and paint it. Make sure you do a lot of masking so no paint gets on the inside.

yeah, it'* not even on the car now. i want to paint it before i put it on. so engine enamel then?
