Kk so yes this is once again another thread for me concerning car shows & getting ready for them got my first one in two weeks (i realized today) & i got A LOT of work to do! So here'* my question I need to find paint that I could use to paint the parts of the rotors that have rust on them in the following pics & I need help on how to do it. I know I gotta wire brush on the rust & tape off what I want painted & all but what else do I need to know? So what paint & how to do it. Thanks!

as far as that goes i have done it a few times wire brush them or sand them with 80 grit to get rid of most of the rust and blast them with caliper paint or engine enamel (paints that can tollerate high heat) then have them turned to reveal the rotor braking surface again do not put tape on the rotors

ohh gotcha. yeah i wasnt gonna paint in the area that the pad touches, thats why i was gonna try to tape it off with something to make sure nothing gets on the pad path
Wait, so why is it not a good idea to cover the parts that the pads would touch? Don't factory zinc coated rotors come coated on the entire surface anyway, and then rub off afterward? What would be the difference between that and painting them?

idk i think the paint creates some sort of wear to the pads or something that causes them to not work as well or SOMETHING! idk exactly what it is but i hear its not a good idea to let much of the paint hit it
