The arrow head on mine isn't painted, and it doesnt look like it ever was...?

OK I'm super confused here. Do you have an SSEi style grille currently on your car? How else could a champagne colored SSEi have a faded red arrowhead as you say it currently has?

Anyway if you're looking to paint the SE style arrowhead, read the link in my signature regarding the arrowhead. The adhesive that holds it to the grille wil remove any paint in that area. Also, if you want to keep the silver part, you'll need more than just red paint...

I'm assuming he has a champagne colored arrowhead and THOUGHT it was once red. Maybe I'm wrong though? I myself am somewhat confused.

Are these designed like the 93 SLE and 94-95 SE emblems, being painted in the back and glued on I mean?

It appears that on the 96-99 SSEi style grille the arrowhead'* color (made up of a chrome backer and colored center area) is on the BACK side of a thin, 1/16" or so, clear plastic arrowhead.

(I have my grille right in front of me )
