don't do it.
there is a reason a real paint job costs 3-5k and maaco costs 700.
also changing colors is a bad idea to do at maaco.
but do what you want...
and wouldn't it make the most sense to just call a few maaco places and ask for quotes. they would know better then we would here online as we don't work for maaco. also diff areas of the country the same maaco paint job will cost differently. so i suggest calling maaco yourself to get an accurate idea of the costs and time and scheduling involved...etc.
just google maaco paint quality or search for customer reviews of maaco. also try calling a local places that does good body work and mention maaco and you'll get laughed at.
really. STAY AWAY.
but if you insist on getting it painted there pick some silly candy color. or go chameleon or something interesting. nothing like riding around in a green jellybean i always say.

I agree with iluvmybonnes assesment. And pricing depends on each one. They are independently owned. I have seen some good painters who work at Maaco'* in my travels, but as a whole they use the cheapest inexperienced people they can find because their business is bottom dollar painting. As well each shop is independly owned so how much prep and finish time spent on a car varies a lot and greatly impacts the end result. I have some some decent for insurance work come out of Maaco'* And seen places they didnt wet sand or even solvent prep a car. I worked at a Sear Auto Center as a fillin job awhile back where we all stood around and laughed at a Maaco job where dirt above the fenders where painted over and shown through and they didnt paint the door jams the new color. Also the paint used is just as important as the labor. Dont expect a high grade of paint for rock bottom pricing. If you want to really get your redone in a different colour and have similar to OEM quality, and expect them to prep your car right beforehand and buff it out afterwards plan on spending 3,000. Thats about the going rate in a good concientious body shop. My marbelized blood candy scheme on top of brand new paint went 7,000.
I see your Bonneville is an one, where maybe the paint is already deteriorating and its value doesnt warrant paying these prices. Then maybe a good well established Maaco is for you. Things to look for; A shop that has a high volume and steady business. As mentioned there are some out there that thrive on insurance business and do an acceptable job. Look at their work being done at the time closely, and ask questions about how good they prep/finish the car.
Speaking of travels, I used to live outside Denver and worked a winter at a mobile home factory in Longmont waiting for the construction season to unthaw, wondered if it'* still in operation.
BTW Welcome to the Bonneville Forum. I'm going to put this in it'* proper Forum Section where it might receive better attention.

sorry if i came off strong i'v just seen the horrors maaco can do. if you can find a good one use it. but be wary. personally i wouldn't. say you get their high end for 1000 or so right? that'* not going to increase the value of your car by 1000.
either way let us know what you decide upon.
HI VENOM!!!!!!
i want to see your paint...got a link to an album? is it hard to get with a camera?

Heres one I did when the new owner took over the Forum. https://www.gmforum.com/t276928/
Yes, with the Clear Urethane on top of the marble buffed out 3 times with successively finer grits, it can be a bitch to get the right light to see the design. My crew was anal about the finish and with each buffer pass they wet the car down and squeegeed the finish looking for any sign of orange peel. It acts like a mirror. But hey, thats what a 7g paint job is about.
