Painted Hood Deflector

Sorry, didn't realize that old threads are a bad thing, so I think what I should have done, is start a new one, with a link to the old one http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...pic.php?t=5039

got around to painting it to match the body color of the car

I've been thinking about the same deflector after seeing the original thread. Looks good either way IMO.

I also travel roads going to work that have alot of truck traffic.
I think it would look really good against against a darker color without painting it .

might be just my own experience, but I find that the front bumper cover doesn't really need extra protection. Maybe it's that the bumper cover is flexible, and I think special flexible paint is used, so it seems to be able to absorb small rock and debris hits and they just bounce off and don't chip the paint.

But the front edge of the hood seems to take a beating, each rock hit leaves a chip down to the metal, so I find this deflector does the job for me, it protects the front edge of the hood and with the turned up back edge seems to be able to protect the whole hood, and maybe even give a little bit of protection to the windshield

I agree, it came as this sort of brown, I think they call it smoke, same as the ventvisors, and on a darker car I think it would look great just the way it comes

I'd prefer to see a clear protector painted on the reverse side, but I think it looks pretty sharp.

Moving to detailing and appearance.

Thanks, and it's easy to install, and it doesn't need to be removed to wash the car

busted. yes, I've got GTS clear wrap-around head light and side marker light covers, gives them a more smooth appearance
