I really don't know.... From what I understand about the Menzerna, it cuts more then the Sonus, but both of them have about the same exact reviews on the autopia site :?

I guess I will go and make a cart at autogeek and danase as well and see what I can come up with for about $300.

Take a look at my post again. I was editing while you posted. I included the extra pad kit to make it all apples for apples. You can save $15-34 or more from the other two. I think any of the polishes are good, Sonus, XMT, Optimum, Danase, Menzerna, Meguiars, etc. I've found lovers of all polishes, and haters of all polishes. So you really have to find what you like. So to me it comes down to price. That way if you find out you don't like the first brand you tried, you can move on a little cheaper.

It'* funny, I've looked into the numbers a few times, including when I first bought stuff over a year ago, and the kits do not prove to be a deal like you think they would be. They pretty much come out the same as buying separately. So you might as well go that route because then you can buy what you want and not get stuck with stuff you might not use (like those bonnets).

I agree with all the other comments as well. Use what works best for you. The price of something does not always tell you if it is good or bad.

the only thing with the Menzerna too that I thought about is the SIP isn't the most aggressive they have. It worked pretty well for me, but I don't know if you'd be missing out by not getting something like SFX-1. I don't know if it'* more aggressive than the SIP or not. The Power Gloss would be the most aggressive for Menzerna. Though I think I read it'* not the most user friendly with an orbital polisher.

I just went through this exact purchase Crash. I am very pleased with my products and I have already made a couple hundred in details with them. I ordered from AG and was very pleased with the prices and service. Join AG and get free shipping on orders over $75. On your AG order I would remove the Mothers synwax and get Collinite 845 or 476(needs to be purchased elsewhere). Collinite will far outlast the synwax and that is what customers like, durability. Replace the Menz final polish with micro polish or 106ff. I have micro polish and am very very pleased with it. It is my go to polish for finishing. For the pads, go with 5.5 in. pads vs. the 6.5'*. You are good on the LC CCS pads though, they are very nice. Buy a 3 pack of black, white, and orange. You will also want a 4" backing pad and a few 4" pads. They fit better into tight places. And for the clay, if you plan to do alot of cars, buy a larger amount of clay. The package deals are a rip IMO because it is cheaper to buy large quantities of QD and large quantities of clay than to buy them in that kit. Plus, that clay isn't as good as say pinnacle or sonus. 2 bars of sonus are $20. OTC clay is too mild for many applications. Drop the guzzler off your list and pick up a Viking drying mf. It is better and cheaper and can be found at your local Kmart. Oh, and add a grit guard or two to your list. For washing, use the Lowe'* groute sponge. I have been using it on my last few details and LOVE it, highly recommended. Also, don't charge too little for the details, I learned that early on. I charged $75 for engine, interior, and exterior. I worked from 8-8 on a beat down maxima and the owner barely looked at it when they picked it up. Prices are now $100 touch fee with engine and exterior being extra. I was trying to help out a friend but it was far too much work.

EDIT: Also, you can pick up a refurb UDM on Autopia for $89, a screamin deal.

Here you go, I went ahead and made a cart of what I would order. In addition to this I would get the 2 pack of green sonus clay for $20, the refurb UDM for $90, the Viking mf drying towel, 3 packs of grey Vroom mf'*(Target, 4 mf per pack), and a big bottle of meg'* quik detailer. The 32 oz. bottle for $7ish.

I was also going to mention Collinite. It will easily last 5+ months. Most people that you detail for probably aren't going to be waxing their car so you probably want something with good longevity especially if you are going to be doing regular detailing for them. That will keep the car looking nice longer for them, and keep it protected longer for you so you don't have to work on it so much the next time hopefully.

I checked on the refurbed UDM'* earlier this week and they were sold out...

You might want to visit a Lowes and check out a Porter Cable ROB from them. It is usually around $109. With a backing plate and pads you are back up to $200 pretty quick.

I also recommend Menzerna polishes. I tried them and they work great.
