Default No official thread for clearing 2K+ headlights?

ive been searching and searching for the official thread, but the thread that was official is 403 forbidden now.

The reason being is i can unscrew the 2 bolts and take off the clips but the corner of the headlight at the end is attatched by that ball joint thingy and i tried to pull it off very hard and it still wont budge. I really dont want to break it.

I think someone should really make a new offical thread for this with pictures!

That ball joint thingy is a bit dicey. You can spray some WD40 in the area to make it a bit slipperier and then pull the head light assembly straight forward. You may have to replace the plastic socket that goes into the fender, but that'* pretty minor.

If you haven't found it by yourself yet, there is a Headlight Lens Restorer kit they sell at Auto Zone (part number: 39008. Kit costs about $20. I am assuming this would be what you are looking for. There is no need to remove the headlight assemblies from the car, which is GREAT as the Bonnie'* can really be a pain.

The kit is basically a drill backer with various stages of sandpaper, ranging from medium grit to silk, and some buffing compound. The general idea here is wet-sanding. I did mine in about an hour. Fantastic results! Hope this helps!

Are you removing the yellow lens or do you need to polish the outer plastic to make it clear?
