New guy with ignorant question . . .
Hi All;
I stumbled across this forum while doing a little internet research on GM body parts and thought that I would try posting my question here. What in the heck is the correct name for the plastic molding/filler/spacer/whatever that goes between the fender and bumper on GM vehicles (specifically a 1986 Pontiac Parisienne)? Also, does anyone know if aftermarket replacement parts are available? The local GM dealership just laughed and said "you gotta be kidding, that car is 25 years old".
Thanks - Tom

Welcome to the forum. No question is ignorant. I still ask questions and ive been a member for quite some time.
Try rockauto.com, gmpartsdirect.com, compnine.com, if u can can get the part # from a dealership it would make things easier, even if they cant get em for u.

Thanks guys and no, I'm not referring to the wheel well liner. This is a little molded rubber (or plastic) filler between the lower rear fender and the bumper that is painted the color of the car. If I can figure out how to post a picture I'll put on up. Really appreciate your help. Best Regards - Tom

Hi Golgo13 and thanks a million for posting the pic. I tried to post a pic myself but got some kind of message about an unrecognizable file format and eventually gave up. I'm referring to the rectangular blue inset plastic piece between the steel part of the fender and the chrome bumper. I'm thinking about restoring a 1986 Pontiac Parisienne that was given to me years ago by my mother when she suffered a stroke and had to give up driving. I've put a quarter of a million miles on the car and should have probably sent it to the junk yard a long time ago, but I've maintained it very well mechanically and the body is in good shape except for these little plastic pieces that have deteriorated and fallen out. I'm trying to price the parts that I would need to bring it back cosmetically and decide if it is worth it to me to do so. Really appreciate everyone'* help. Kindest Regards - Tom

try here
http://www.replica-plastics.com/Edit...x?Make=Pontiac
the first pics look like the pieces you need, wish the images looked better.
If the car runs good, I say bring it back. It will last longer than anything new, lol.
