Default Monstaliner on a sedan

Hello all,

I have a beautiful 92 Olds 88 Royale, but I'm sick of the carpet and the progressing rust, so I'm considering Monstaliner like the Jeep and truck guys do haha

Any opinions or relevant experiences to share? Tips? I've got the detailed instruction sheet from the Monstaliner site and I'm feeling confident about it. Still a project that is a couple months out, though.

In spots? Did you do the whole bed? Did you use name brand Monstaliner? They're very adamant about their product being UV proof with no fading over time. The projects I've seen look really great, even after years of wear.

I want to do the interior floor with Monstaliner. Then later I want to embark on the adventure of applying POR15 or Chassis Saver to the exterior underside of the car. So no, the Monstaliner will just be interior ... like instead of carpet.

it was herculiner specifically and i put it on everything from the body line down. but the texture made it impossible to wash

I have actually heard about Herculiner having those issues (fading and difficult texture). I think the Monstaliner should turn out pretty well in those areas. There are video tutorials on how to make the perfect texture. Besides, no matter what it'll be easier to wash than carpet.

Also, if that'* a recent picture, your truck looks darn good!

i never heard of monstaliner till you to be honest. it would be good inside i think. the truck i got all rusty in about 02, and fixed it up figuring i would keep it. but i had a daughter and kids with a std cab and 5spd dont really mix well. and after you put a ton of work into something like that it was hard to use it as a truck. so i sold it 2-3 yrs ago and got a older yukon to just fix up the mechanical, not making it look good this time so i dont care if it gets messed up

Cool Got the samples! (Pics)

Got my free chip samples from Monstaliner the other day, and I'm thrilled to see that one of the oranges matches my Rustoleum paint perfectly.

Planning on doing the interior in a light gray, like the carpet in there now. That will prevent rust and look pretty slick, I think. (I was considering doing this in orange, too, but that might be a TAD obnoxious.)

So instead of doing the interior in orange, I have three big lines on the side of the car that are now black, white, and orange (below).

In less than a year, I already have chipping paint on those parts, so it'd be great to protect those in Monstaliner.

Love the texture of it, too.

Can't wait to get enough cash to start this job. Gonna look SWEET.

Figured I'd update ... ripped up the carpet and the rust on the driver'* side is worse than I had imagined. Looks like we will have to replace the entire driver'* side floor. Will update before the weather gets cold with how it goes, but here is the sad-looking picture now:
