Keep that cover off, or modify it. You can put some mesh in there, paint parts, they can ve nice.
Otherwise it'* a lot hotter with it on.
Yup, you're right about the procedure, remember to put the oil cap back on first though!
I just folded up a garbage bag and placed it ontop of the coils. Don't spray directly and you'll be fine.

Actually, Neocon, I'm in Galloway (used to be Absecon before too many people moved in), and both my dad and I are both Bonneville owners! Nice to see someone in our neck of the woods.
