LED Strips
So I bought 3 pairs of those LED strips a while back that someone here had used inside their Bonneville headlight housings. I've been trying to figure this out, but if the person who installed them could chime in, that would be great. What voltage do these run at? I've hooked them up to a computer power supply and they run on the 5V power but not on the 12V power. If they are indeed 5V, how do I go from 12V to 5V?

If they won't run @12v, but work bright enough at 5, then run them in series @ 12. I don't think the first one pulls enough amperage to cause enough voltage drop to effect a visible difference in brightness on the second one. I would also use a wire one size less between the negative of the first and the positive of the second string.

Hey Revolution,
I have LED strips installed on my car, and mine are running at 12 V. I simply got one of the fuse adaptors, and plugged my power wire into the stud coming off the fuse.
Heres pics of mine:

I ran all my own wiring for them, reason being: I wanted full control of them and have a switch so I could turn them on and off. Since I have disabled the running lights, I now run the LED strips all the time for my running lights....similar to the Audi'* you see!
