Anything is possible! I can put a port hole in the side of your car door if you'd let me take a skill saw to it.

You may want to ask what they intend to do do your car door to install the LED'*...you may not want to stomach the carnage to have this done by Best Buy. Try a custom car place or a custom auto install shop.

hmmm...alright... thats why i was kinda wondering how it was going to be done, ill ask them.

any reccomendations on getting led'* on the inside? i was thinking the obvious: cupholds, under dash...maybe even in the vents. and i was wanting to put maybe 4.5" on the inside of every one of the doors (where that red light is)

and what are the best types of LED'* to get off oznium?

also any opinions on what color to go with? my car is that topazmist whatever color. i was thinking blue, but my other friend said red, and one said green, haha. but i already have a blue light that shines in my car from the amp, and the flashdrive that goes into the headunit for my songs has a blue light on it. so i was just trying to keep goin' with the flow....

any help i greatly appreciated

Most of the LED'* I see are pretty simple to install, They have a lip to keep them from going in the hole you drill and two little side clips to catch as you push it done in the hole. Each has it'* own hole diameter and is written on the package. Some just have little ribs on the side to hold them fast. For the door handles, You might be able to drill the hole behind the handle into the door panel, holding the handle up. You'll have to pull the inside door panel to wire. Pretty much the same wherever you put them in the interior. Drill a hole, push in the LED, wire. Figure out if you want them on a switch or headlights for the door ones, or work when the doors open for the inside ones.

Im not sure if zeibart will do it either. But you definitely don't want the guys at best buy doing it. Don't you have any custom audio shops in your town. Those guys are usually pretty good at specialized fabrication and can make anything work. Or this may be the opportunity you need to try your own hand at some customization. as my unc always told me, "aint nothin to it, but to do it."LOL

I would suggest buying a spare door handle to mess around with. Then once you get it to look how you wan't tear into the rest.

yeah, the reason i'm asking which places will do it is because I don't know **** about cars, to be honest. I'm 18, i know it'* embarassing, guys should have a lot more general knowledge about cars at this age..oh well. I guess I didn''t really think/realize that there is going to have to be a hole drilled for it to go into. Is this the same with the cupholders? I guess it would be, haha, cause they're solid at the bottom of course.

Not to mention I probably would have no idea how to wire these. I've never even messed with a car (taking parts off, or anything like that) so it kind of blows my mind that you guys do all of these mods yourself.

I explained to my dad what clearing the headlights/tailights was, and he liked the idea. I showed him one of the how-to'*, and he said we don't have a dremmel, but was curious if any other 1/8 drill bit would work.

So I guess I am starting to get scared away from the idea of having the LEDs in the door handles, I mean I really want them, I know for a fact that NO ONE in my town has them. And i'm thinking that my dad is going to be iffy about it if holes have to be drilled everywhere ( worried about resale? ) How can I convince him that these aren't that big of mods and that those holes can easily be fixed?????

You need the speed of a dremel to do the lights. Putting a dremel bit in a drill is going alot of melted plastic goo. They arent to expensive. I just bought a battery powered on at WallyWorld for sharpening my chainsaw chains in the woods and have already used it for alot of other things.

We all start at the same point your at Duke. Best not to get a complex about it. Asking questions make you informed, that'* half the battle. The other half is experience and you only get it taking the plunge. Holes are very small, if you want to remove them later small rubber plugs can be used. They only require two wires to be connected, a hot and ground, and it doesnt matter which is which. I think in the cupholders you would want the LED hole through the side anyway. I have a couple LED'* sittin around and think that would be a great mod. I fumble for my can of soda at nite. There is an DC outlet on the back of my console for a perfect power tap. I think if you get your Dad invoved in a simple mod, it will motivate him to do more. It seems to just work out that way. You do one, see it looks good and you can do it, and soon the mod fever hits you. We have young people who started as fresh as you, and they now own slicked out, tire burning monsters. LOL
