and that makes me wonder, the hood has never been repainted for the time i have driven it, and my parents drove it b4 me, so maybe theres some hidden secrets

wow, i should really use a clay bar on my paint, my paint is really dull and swirly even after i way it. i love having a black car, and then it gets dirty and i hate it!!!!!

chances are that a lot of the swirls are from you dragging around very small dirt particles that a clay bar would have removed, with the wax applicator pad.

Unless your paint felt as smooth as clean glass when you waxed it, you were probably making more swirls.

And wax goes on SOOO easy after a clay bar. (bewarned, it does not remove old wax)

Which is why you wash your car in dishsoap first. And the claybar WILL take some wax off...if you waxed over the dirt that you just picked up with that bar

The Megs bar uses the spray wax, so waxing afterwards using that product isn't as critical, but still recommended. Then again, there is always Liquid Glass

dish soap is one of the WORST things you could ever do to a car'* paint while washing it. Nothing like removing all the natural oils from the paint.


yes it will take wax off if you waxed over the dirt it removes but if you waxed the car when it was clean it will not take the wax off.
