I really like the look when they are lit-up, but I don't like the white background.

It is definitely a generous helping of white, but to me, it helps visually to read the gauges. I never much liked the white on gray look during the day. It'* definitely something different, and the beauty is, if you don't like it, a little goo gone and you're back to stock!
