I'd definitely wax afterwards. The clay bar removes everything (assuming you're not just claying over a recently waxed car), so you're left with unprotected paint basically. I usually do a wash, a pre-wax cleaner (first step of a 3-phase wax) to clean the paint thoroughly. Then I claybar to get the rest. Then I resume the waxing.

Some clay bars won't hurt your wax, but it'* best to be safe and re-wax. I just did my hood this afternoon and it was like I hadn't done it in a couple years, and I just polished it a couple months ago.

As for the leftover lube, it'* basically a quick detailer, so you can use it after a wash or when your car is just lightly dusty to quick clean it.

Assuming your paint was clean and all the contaminents are ontop of the wax, it shouldn't remove the wax. But if you waxed over what you are removing, then it will obviously remove the wax also. Waxing a car after it has been clayed only takes like 20 minutes because it goes on and comes off so smooth.

If you car doesn't feel like clean glass after it is washed, you should consider claying. Or for those who smoke, if you use the plastic wrapper for your pack, and rub it on your car, if it makes noise, it is considered dirty.

And to whoever moved it, it was in the lounge because it is a pointless thread with no real content pertaining to detailing beyond the fact that there is a picture of 8 bottles of wax.

It was in the right area to begin with, but I moved it since it ended up turning into a good discussion on using the clay bar.

I probably use 4 a year. I have 3 cars to care for plus I do a lot of charity work on other family members cars.

I really like the Zaino and Clay magic bars. The mothers clay bar is a strong performer as well.

A claybar makes tar removal from the rocker panels a breeze.

Stoners bug and tar remover is amazing on tar. I nothing special for most bugs but I was darn impressed for tar.

Clay'd up the GTI the other night, the dealer lot is next to a gravel/dirt pit, and it'* downwind from the pit as well. Cars are always being washed there, even on clear days.

Definitely helped a lot!
