How do I get my Bonnie's bod preped for Liquid Glass?
I have two Bonnies..a black 98SE and a black 97SSEi. I want to give Liquid Glass a shot. So how do I take the wax off of these two beautys before I apply Liquid Glass? Anything else I should do to the body before applying Liquid Glass? BTW...what car wash detergent do you recommend to wash with?
My luck with Liquid glass wasn't so good. Made water-like stains that only came off with NXT wax. :? Couldn't even scratch them off with my fingernail. :?
I also found the NXT had a better gloss and left the paint feeling smoother.
I know Will and others have had outstanding luck.
I will say though, that I went to a do it yourself bay for the pre-wax wash. I didn't use dish soap or anything to remove the old wax. Maybe that was why.
I wish you luck ...if your luck with it is as good as Will'* you will have two gorgeous Bonnevilles (not that you don't already).

Yes, dish soap takes the polish and wax off.
Polish and waxing after every weekly wax would get old fast.
If you enjoy washing at home I suggest going to your local parts store (Advance, Autozone, Auto Value, NAPA, Checker, Wal-Mart, etc....) and get something like Mequiars or Mothers Auto wash.
Cheap and it works wonders on a fresh wax.

Personally I don't use soap to wash at all. Just high pressure water hose and a soft spong. For the glass I use a damp microfiber cloth and flanel cloth to dry the windows.
