I'll throw my support for claying in here too.Used one for the first time last month, love it, will do it every time I wax now.
I'm not trying to turn this into a flame war over what wax is better though. Myself I use Meguiars NXT, I like it but I know everyone has their prefferences.
as for you living off a dusty gravel road I can sympathyze with you there. I too live of a dirt road and have a dirt driveway, and travel down many other dirt roads as well. Get yourself a California duster.They are great for quickly taking dust and pollen of the surface of your car.

I'm weary of using dish soap. If you want a fresh coat of wax, use the clay. You'll clean all the crud out of the paint as well as remove any old wax and polish.
