help my car got painted the wrong color
#11
PeterG may be right, and the car could be repainted and no adverse affects come out of it. If you wait 2 weeks you don't have to worry about it either way. My suggestion is to wait the 2 weeks, and here are 2 god reasons why, 1) It may take you more than 2 weeks to argue them into any other agrement than what they already offered you (the repaint) 2) if you have him repaint it before the 2 weeks time, will this job then have a warentee, or would the early painted (as they would describe it) void any liability they would have to ensure a quaility paint job. They ay paint early, but if he says 2 weeks, they may negotiate down to no warentee on the work, I know I wouldn't offer a warenee if it was outside my standards.

I gottas agree with SSEi95. It ain't so much what is technically possible as far as the paint goes, as much as what will happen if you go outside what the painter is willing to do.
Forcing them to go against their normal routine could end you with a no warranty paint job. Then again, it might not. If you're really feeling impatient, and you do talk them into doing it early, be 100% sure what it'* gonna cost you in the "fine print".....
2 weeks really ain't that long to wait to make sure the shop will stand behind their work, in my opinion. Just consider one more primer layer....

Honestly, I would wait the two weeks if I were you. I wouldn't want him mad, just like I wouldn't want someone tearing down my motor for a rebuild mad. If he is "happy" to do it in two weeks, so be it. It has been scientifically proven that people that are happy do better work.
Look on the bright side, you have paint on your car.
