Default Gtech backlight

Old was blue. New RR is orange. An improvement for sure, although it would be easier to change the blue to green with cellophane (yellow) film.

Should I risk cracking this case to change the orange to red? Red or green are the lit up colors at night.....and the old blue was too bright at night, so red film added to the screen would help dim it slightly.

Thoughts?

If the case can easily be disassembled why not try it.

Looks easy. 4 screws. I can put the film between the LCD display and the plastic window.

Well, if I was feeling gutsy, I'd replace the single LED that edge-lights the LCD screen, but I'm not willing to do surface-level soldering on a brand new Gtech. My red cellophane is to light, and barely made a difference.

But I have a good stock of Optical filters at work that are already nearly the right size, and every color known to man. I'll do more on this after I return to work on the 2nd.

.....or you can install an on/off or dimmer switch for the light.

No can do. It'* an edge-lit surface-mount LED. I won't violate my warranty. Adding a color filter is easy to switch later if it needs warranty work or replacement.
